ECR low side

every one told me to be careful before i left to do my first track day. it was like they knew or something. so i went down in turn 3 at eagles canyon. heres what i think happened: i was right at the apex of the left hand turn at full lean and the bike fell from under me. i wasnt on the brakes and i was smooth on the throttle. so i think the tires gave out. weather i leaned farther than they liked me too or i hit a slick spot or maybe it was still just a little cold. but thats just my opinion of what happened... feel free to chime in on that. definitely wouldnt mind input.

so the insurance was going to cover it but i guess they sobered up this morning. their policy conveniently recently changed to exclude "practice for racing events" and since i cant really prove that i had no intentions of ever racing my bike...well theyre not going to pay. but thats alright. its all cosmetic damage anyway and ill come out of the deal with some "race plastics" since some of the crashed ones are salvagable. had to buy the leathers as well but hey...now i have those too. so since i am all set up for the track i guess i will be trying to make it out there far more often. count on seeing me next season.
thanks for reading.

You need to fight your insurance company!!!

Track days are not practice for races per se instead they are a rider education class.

FIGHT THE BASTARDS!!!

Glad you were ok, it was really slick out there all day. Some of the sealer was grippy and some of the other sealer was slick. I nearly highsided coming out of 2 later that day and then again in 7 on sunday.

Get it all back together and see you out there next season.

i can fix it for like 1500 to 1800 and my premium wont go up. its not worth it to me to get into some legal battle with them. i already emphasized the out of the fact that it was just an advanced riding course and not race practice. im just really really happy with my 22 dollar a month full coverage insurance. so im not gonna push the fact and jepordize having to pay what everyone else pays. haha

well, are you professional, or do you have history of actually racing a sanctioned race?

I think they have the burden of proof that you were planning to race....

i pay them for when unavoidable happens. and if i hadnt been on the track this wouldnt have happened. it is also the law to have insurance as well as a stipulation of my loan.

You were doing good out there untill the lowside. I was working 3 and jetkiller on 4. I thought you were not going to have a problem getting through the turn so I went back to hidding from the wing behind the heybell so I did not see it but I heard you go down and looked.

Try not to let this accident decrease your trust in tires. With good tires on a warm track, grip and lean angle are amazing.
I gotta say I applaude your attitude about it, many would have been upset about their bike and the money spent. You are correct in saying that now you will be all set for more trackdays.

thanks. i keep reminding myself that it was cold and a little slick out there. my only regret is that i only got to ride for two sessions and missed out on the rest of the day of instruction. cant wait tilll the next one.

gabriel thanks for the props. didnt realize you were out there i would have liked to meet you. if you were one of the guys that came up to me after i wrecked then sorry if i was anti social. i was a little "put out" right at that moment.

as far as my insurance...its nothings final yet. it will all work out the way its supposed to.
