coppers

i was riding with my friend yesterday evening going toward his house on 96 and we just past hwy 3 when a hear a hardly rider revving his pos, i look over and it is a league cop. He then starts motioning me to pop a wheelie, i laugh and give the hand across the throat signal saying no way, he speeds up to my friend and gives the same sign and my friends shakes his head, no. Then he starts accelerating off and on, i guess wanting us to race but there is no way i am going to do any of that with a copper, do not trust them at all. He puts his turn signal on and goes into cvs all the while giving us the thumbs up as we pass. I wonder if he was just trying to trick us or if he was for real?

i was riding up I-45 and came alongside a cop, IN UNIFORM, on his personal bike.
He looked at mine and gave a thumbs up, so i looked at his and did the same. Then he made the little finger point, to indicate "Wanna go for it?"
I motioned like, "Are you gonna give me a ticket?"
He shook his head and took off, so i followed.
We wound up zigzagging thru traffic at speeds up to 125mph. We got into the downtown area and hit the Pierce elevated. Trafic was lite at that point so we got up to about 135, went around the downtown curve and he exited at whatever that street is that leads to the main popo station.
Of course I slowed down, and then realized he was prolly on his way to work.
Couldn't believe what had just happened, I swear it's true.

Just to clarify this was prolly 25 years ago, so things were a little different and daytime traffic was not as bad.

i have another story, i was going 100 or so on 59n around buff a ho speedway and the next thing i know an hpd car was right on my with lights on, , so since i am in the left lane i put my signal on to pull over to the left shoulder and lo and behold he is right next to me on the shoulder passing me! i about pooped in my pants! he passed me up turned his lights off and slowed down then sped up again, wtf i just slowed down and let him go. That was totally weird.

All the cop has to do is deny giving you any kind of signal to do a wheelie. Cop's word vs. yours, who do you think will win?

my friend actually rode home with a hosuton cop the other day on Hardy toll road, said the guy was even flagging down other riders so they all could ride as a group. I know I am in general suspicious of police officers, but i really doubt that they are going to go to the trouble (most of em at least) of motioning for you to pull a wheelie and then ticket you for it.

+1 for paranoia. Sounds like alot of you have a guilty conscience. Cameras and witnesses are everywhere. Why would anyone risk their career over something so stupid, especially the way times are now?

i "raced" a cop in HPD uniform once on my way to work. hard to really call it a race though because he was on a slowzuki boulevard. basically we turned onto the feder road of i-10 and he hit the throttle hard and i followed suit and we raced to the entrance of the freeway. silly cruisers.
