Who fries turkeys?

I cooked a chicken with my set up last night, I gacked it with seasonings, I smeared it with various fresh ground peppers and I tossed it in the hot bubbling stuff and 30 min later had a wonderful yardbird.

gonna cook a turkey this christmas

what flavor seasonings have you tried and prefer?
type of oil used ?

we had a smoked turkey at the sis in laws house. they are country folk and have this huge assed pit on a trailer. Anyway, the turkey was so smokey tasting it reaked. way to strong and I couldnt eat it.
Thats why I bought the fryer, I ain't going no where for the holidays and eating their rubbish, I'll bring my own rubbish to share :-)

I fried it for Thanksgiving. Seasoned it with Zatarains, wife injected with some butter spice stuff we got at academy, and used cottonseed oil. Fried for an hour, came out nice and red and good. Probably coulda used more seasoning, and injected more stuff. This was our first time doing it.
