I've put around 5,000 miles on mine in 4 months or so. Bikes are for riding........cold, hot, bright, dark, wet or dry.

i have done carb cleans on a few bikes that are 06 and 07 models and have from 100-900 miles on them. One of them has been in 3 times for carbs to be cleaned and it has less than 200 miles on it.

So they are saying that the baby is going in the garage in place of the bike? Bikes are like any addiction (IF you are a true rider)...... My Gixxer is my 15th street bike. I've owned all the bikes, Harleys, cruisers, sportbikes, turbo bikes, etc. Once you've thrown your leg over one, you'll catch the fever and NEVER totally stop riding forever. I have had things in my life that have forced me to sell bikes, but 25 years after the first one, I'M STILL RIDING. I also know guys that own bikes that either won't ride because it's cold, windy, wet, dark, hot or whatever other lame- excuse they can come up with. I won't let a bike come between me and my wife, but that's about it.

A large majority of these people buy bikes they can't handle (you know since they don't want to sound like a pansy at work getting a little bike). In the first week, they scare the out of themselves and can't get the nerve to ride it again so it sits...

Then you have the idiots that don't bother to get an insurance quote before they purchase. , about anyone can get approved for the $99 a month scam or under $200 payments. It's when they get a quote for $5k+ a year for full coverage that they decide to park it for FEAR of crashing.

Plus the baby stories, wife's no fun, etc... you've got all kinds. The bad ones IMO though are the ones that crash them on the way home from the dealer. After all the time talking the wife into it, they now have to get the bike fixed and then try selling it as a brand new bike....
