since everyone seems to have better knowledge of this than me, I was wondering if someone could explain this to me. If we are so broke that we can not afford to race at a safe track and have to race at a track that kills people, how is it that CCS can break even with only 45 entries? And we have around 300 per weekend on a bad weekend.

facts only please

Dude, please, read and try to comprehend this. Nobody said the club is "so broke they can't race there." What was said was that in the interest of the club's future, we cannot race at a venue that lost money the previous year and was poorly attended; perhaps we'll return next year if things work out. They even said that if they can make a financial turn-around that they can attend a track like that which will likely lose money to appease a small contingent of racers.

Each track negotiates with it's tenants, these rates are proprietary and should not be disclosed to the public. That's in the interest of the tenant and the owner. Obviously, Travis was able to negotiate something that let him "break even" (if that is factual, but I seriously doubt since I observed the number of people there who we actually "racing").

Landon, sounds like you have an issue with the CMRA. I suggest that if this is bothering you sooo badly, you contact the BOD and ask these questions, on MH ain't gonna get it done. If you don't like our answers, seek out those who run the Organization and ask them

Not to mention, bringing up tragic fatalities from unsupervised practices that were not attended by EMS is in extremely bad taste to make a point with; and you should be ashamed of yourself for stooping to that level. Have some fuggin' respect man!

I hope to that nobody dies at any track, and the one your whining about certainly has the potential to claim someone's life too!

I thought more of you than this man, very disappointing.

Pure conjecture.

You don't offer any facts, and then request them in return? That's hypocritical.

The CMRA is not the only racing organization making decisions for 2009 based on the economic conditions of 2008.

http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ne...nG=Search+News

Macman and others have given several credible reasons for the absence of MSRH on the 2009 schedule.

Going on about it, makes it appear that you have an axe to grind.

As this is the internet, feel free to keep throwing sparks. It changes nothing.

Quite yer '! It's only 1/2 the drive you make to get to Hallett! C'mon up! I'll show you how civilized people get down!
fan

I am impressed that so many people are interested in the CMRA schedule for 2009. Hopefully, MSRH and the CMRA can reach an mutually economically viable agreement in 2010 and that track can be fit into the schedule.

I fear that as far as the economy goes, this debate will be for naught if the economic forecasts for 2009 are accurate.

I think this season's gas prices hurt people around here more than anything. TX economy is quite good at the moment from what I'm seeing.

I hope to join you guys at the race next year...FINALLY!

Nope, but you can read the thread for yourself on the CMRA bbs.

If you have a 46 tooth rear and there is a 10mph wind from the north at MSRH in July 2008 and then in July of 2009 you have a 10mph SSE wind.

What size sprocket do you use?

I'll be your Huckleberry!!

Lets do some economics here Mr. Orchard.
On a "CMRA event weekend" the staff to run the event is 29 people.
Thats 29 CMRA paid employees.
CMRA doesn't have 45 entries we actually have people to race against!!!

MSRH was the highest paid cornerworker weekend. Not many prov novs wanted to attend?

The especially high insurance requirement was another unusual expense.

I don't know what CCS South pays to race at that track but I know what the CMRA and LSTD pay and they are not the same as ECR. Does MSRH give a discount to CCS? Maybe requires less Insurance? I don't know!!!
I don't care.

The CMRA LOST money at MSRH.
We are not racing at the track for 2009.
The following examples I quoted are reasons why.
I'm quite happy that you can race in CCS South.
They obviously need the attendance.

Amen, 2 race orgs and MSRH, GSS, MSRC, ECR, Track in SA, TWS (Texas World Speedway), and Hallet all within the area. Were pretty spoiled here in TX. Run a WERA season then complain about travel. I dont mind driving 4-5 hours to Dallas area to go race, thats my time away from everything is when im at the track. We are all lucky that we can go ride almost every weekend of the month ALL YEAR.
