I vote we set up a ring in T-16 so Tom and Buck can have a friendly match of Jello wrestling in lieu of CMRA not racing at MSRH. That way, we all win

Yea But I did'nt see C.Corder's post first. I saw Carbon's post first.

I don't check the CMRA board every hour.... maybe you do bud... not me.

Besides that's not the point.

What's done is done...

It seems the majority of CMRA races are away from the Houston racers, and closer to the board members, Oklahoma racers etc etc.

It don't matter, I'll try showing up to as much events as I possibly $$$ can. I'm just a little bummed that we're not:

1) racing @ MSRH.
2) racing 3 times @ OHR, rather then 3 @ TWS (Texas World Speedway).

OHR is a blast on a mini, but not on a big bike. And if I wanted to mini action TMGP is the place to be, CMRA is the big bike place.

No, I don't either, but in this case, it was 24+ hours, not just one.... bud.

Moe, if you read the whole thread, you'll see that there is not intention of "3" OHR events for big bikes, just 2, like last year.

I know people get hurt over their track not being in the schedule, personally, I wish we could schedule 15 events at 15 different tracks; it's just not to be. The economy and other factors have come in to play, and it's not the way it used to be, but it's getting back to the way it used to be. There was a time when we raced 3 tracks (OHR, TWS (Texas World Speedway), Monterrey), and OHR did big bike endurance!

You do what you can with what you've got.

If CCS goes to Angleton, great. CMRA couldn't make it happen, maybe CCS will get rich running there

Personally, I'd like to see TMGP do another cross-over event with the CMRA at GSS

That was an okay mini track, lots of fun in spite of its poor condition at the time.

Trivia: who won the overall in 2001 at that GSS crossover? Answer: My team. Oops! Sorry. This isn't an interview and you didn't ask for my resume.

You know what you need to do- facilities is one thing, especially for the price.

I think if things fall together in the off season over there, it could happen next year.

You should really approach TMGP to see if they want to run there in '08.

CMRA used to race only Wheels in San Angelo and OHR in Henderson. too.

We also raced in Topeka, Kansas 2x in one year. Thats 13-14 hrs from where I live.

I can make a few points here.

MSRH has an expensive rental fee and requires a Participant Accident and Medical policy that other tracks do not require. The CMRA does not insure its racers or participants. This premium is several thousand dollars and the coverage is supplemental and really doesn't cover much.
This weighed heavily on the BOD's decision to race there based on direct costs. I didn't negotiate the CMRA's 2009 schedule but I have asked as an LSTD owner if it is negotiable to drop the Insurance coverage requirement.
The July 5-6th event at MSRH was one of the most expensive for the CMRA and the least attended. Why??
The Holiday event? No-one likes the track? Economy? All the above?
I don't have the answers and I feel no-one does.
Hopefully the club can negotiate the Insurance in 2010 and the economy stabilizes so we can have a race club in existance and many more tracks to ride on.
This economy sucks right now and I'm worried about track days, racing and anyone being able to afford it. Regardless of what happens to CMRA or if CCS-South returns we all have our work cut out for us.

Track day providers have to compete for dates with (last year) 2 motorcycle racing orgs, XX number of competing track day providers, auto racing orgs, auto track day orgs... etc, so sometimes dates just have to be scheduled when they can be.

Lately, hurricanes have been playing a part in scheduling too. Maybe it will be better next year.

+50000000. I like that track a lot, on the 750. It would be sweet on a well prepped mini. The mini motards running were looking great and it was so tight they didn't pose a real risk to "Intermediate Level" big bikes. Anyone know what a 65 turns in the way of lap times?

TMGP is cheap, both for racers and in their outlook. The GSS price would need to be WAAAAY low to get TMGP out there. And Jeff Phillips, no matter how much I love the guy, just really likes things the way they are....good folks, cheap racing, fun fun fun. That's his agenda. Keep it simple.

BUT, I think TMGP used to race out there on the old terrible track. So maybe it can be worked out. Go Chris!!!!!!!!!!

Now, obviously the two tracks DO NOT cost the same.

Do you have another question about that? Contact the CMRA BOD or check the thread in the CMRA bbs about it
