This is what has really made Snook, TX famous. I have attended 3 in my life and I must say that the two day event is on a liver.........

http://www.chilifest.org/home.htm

I was thinking of getting a Chili Team of MH members for next years event. Any takers?

nope.

Since eating at the CzecTex steakhouse in Snook, I have never been back to the Country Inn in Somerville, or Sodolak's. My parents live in Somerville and everytime I visit, I try to eat at CzecTex. I prefer the food, the service, and the atmosphere.

Coming from Somerville on 60, you would turn right on 2155. Where there is a jog in the highway, don't make the jog, keep going straight into town until the road dead ends (Loop 2155?). Turn right and the restaurant is immediately on your left (You can see it from the corner).

I think most non-local people are unaware of it and never get past the Country Inn or Sodolak's. They do not, however, serve chicken fried bacon, so I think I'll have to give that a try!
