Anyone going to Barber in 2009?

Well as it turns out I'm getting recalled back to active duty Marine Corps and will be on my way to most likely North Carolina sometime in April.

If it turns out that I'm staying stateside for the year I'll be activated, which is probably about a 50-50 chance, then I plan on bringing the bike with me. If it's not planned for me to return to Iraq or Afganhistan, then I'm going to slap some race plastics on the R6 and crank out as many trackdays as I can at places like VIR, Barber and Kershaw.

I've got a couple buddies that are still in North Carolina that share our passion for the track and we're already talking about plans to make it to Barber a few times while I'm up there.

My question to you, my fellow Houstonians, is who will be planning on making some trips to Barber this coming season, and when?

I'm not real certain of the track organization that those of you who have been to Barber run with, but whatever the schedule, I'll more than likely have to do them on Holiday weekends.........ex: 4th of July, etc. etc. That's when we military folk get 4 day weekends, and that'll make a trip to Alabama a little easier.

If any of you are planning on making a trackday there sometime during the summer or late in the season, it would be nice to see some familiar faces out there, or some that I haven't had the honor of meeting yet.

Yea, I was at Lejuene for the 4 years I was in, apart from Boot Camp and Iraq. Lejuen/Jacksonville sucks . Good riding though all over that side of the state........but it doesn't compare to the other side. West North Carolina is some of the best riding in the country.....period.

Ok, well I just found out that I'm not going back to North Carolina, instead I'm going to California.

Barber will have to wait until I get back to Tx, I suppose.

So.....anyone going to Laguna?

If I stay stateside......you bet your I'm going to Laguna Seca and doing a trackday. Fvk......I might even try and make the GP race.

Sucks though......I was looking forward to doing a trackday at Barber with my NC and TX buddies. There is always another season.

I don't know if I'm staying stateside or not, yet.

This is all a "what if" assumption.

That is one goal I have for 2009. I'll be looking for NESBA, Sport Bike Track Time and California Superbike School for schedules and will attend the TD that best fits my schedule.

Just might have to go for a ride with you while you are out there. Trying to plan a trip to ride to Cali during the early summer.
I was stationed in Yuma, AZ for the 5 years I was in. Great riding between there and San Diego.
Anyways, I am going to try and head out there for a week or so next year. Stop in Yuma for a few days. Then to Cali. Stay in San Diego then shoot up the PCH.
Enjoy the riding out there. It is awesone ALL YEAR ROUND!!!!
