Hey folks got question? Please need help!

I’m planning to buy a dirt bike for my oldest son so when I’m at home and away from my Army work, my boy and I can spend some father and son time, I like too ride and very time I go out with my sport bike he ask me if I could take him around the block so I want to buy one for him so he could start learning how to ride. But I’m in Friendswood and I don’t know where my son and I can go riding, he’s not ready for the tracks yet nor my self so I want to go easy. If any body can direct me where to go I will really appreciate it and I can get a big smile from my son. His been asking me if he could have a bike for he's self, so this coming year I like to give him that for his b-day and for all the time I have miss with him for being deployed with the Army. And if any one is thinking of selling a 50cc dirtbike by February hit me up with a PM. Thanks Rocky

Thanks Squanto84 and C.Hern5972 really appreciate the help. Hope my boy can pick it up fast I want to start getting him into it so he won't end up like me doing bad things, getting into trouble in the street in my younger days again thanks

Again thanks folk's, just got to get a bike for him when I get back from deployment. Again thank you, if anyone got other suggestion they are welcome. Just want my boy to be happy, him and I have time to spend with each other when I'm at home.

Buddha from the forum is selling a nice Honda 100. That might suit your and your son's needs. Indeed I was talking about Sam Houston National Forest, is very fun, cheap and you can spend several hours in there. You can even camp there.

How old/ big is your son? The sand at the SHNF can be pretty tough for a small wheeled bike. I would start him on one of the MX tracks with a kiddie track or a park like Cherokee.

LOL^ Beat me to it!

How old is your son? If this would be his first riding experience I'd skip SHNF as the trails out there will be too challenging to a kid on a mini. Get him some seat time in a nice wide open area & let him learn at his pace gradually introducing him to more technical/ challenging stuff & he'll be hooked

For a couple of hours of convenient fun Pelican island is close to you & has some decent open areas if you keep a close eye on him & wash your bikes meticulously after riding there (the briney mud will tear em up fast).

There are other areas around but you may have to drive a ways to get there,
my sons are 4 & 7; send me a pm when you get him set up or if you need any other advice.

Good luck!
