Here's the deal. I am planning on getting a new bike in the next few months. I have my eye on the 06 orange/black Honda RR. But I may be able to get an 05 Kawi ZX636 for a GREAT deal, to good to pass up. Only problem is that it is green . Sorry to all you folks that have a green Kawi, but this chic is not gonna ride one. Is my best bet to have it painted or get another complete set of plastics and use the green ones for the track. Does anyone know how much a complete set would be?

Thanks

go on ebay. i have seen a complet set including tank go for $1k shipped on www.kawiforums.com and that was reasonable for takeoffs. you can problay collect them piece by piece cheaper on ebay and probaly sell the ones you have now.

if you really want them new, check out www.ronayers.com and they have the best price for painted OEM plastics.

either way, register on kawiforums and read up on the zx636r there!

buy the whole set of orange off of ebay and the sell the whole set of green. this way you'll either break even or make or lose just a little money.

Green is great, for one little fact, bright colors are easier to see, from a cager's point of view. Ok,ok, Buy the plastics in the color of your choice, then sell your plastics, and then buy a set of Sharkskins for the track. How 'bout that?

Well it looks better on you than me David!!!

All great ideas. Thanks. I am all about the bright colors, that is why if I have it painted it will be orange, kinda like our ZX7R.

If you haven't considered it, another option is to buy the plastics without color. I've noticed on ebay they usually sell a lot cheaper. Maybe you can find someone who has them to trade with... or find someone to paint the blank plastics.

good luck

Nice try!!! :laughing6

I came up with another solution last night also. I will just give the 600 to the hubby and completely take over the 750 . Sounds like a great idea to me, but I am not sure how he will feel about it. JK... If any one knows of somewhere that does a good job painting plactics let me know.

here is one link on www.kawiforums.com (aka www.zx6r.com)

if you would of looked like i said, you would of found some blue, orange, and titanium colored sets there and other people looking for complete sets of plastics with color not being important.

http://www.kawiforums.com/forum/topi...TOPIC_ID=44411

if you find someone who specializes in painting motorcycle plastics the paint job should be around $800. most auto painters wont be able to cover the plastics with the color becasue they usually just spray the outside of the fairing and have trouble with any curves that fold in towards the bike. not only that you can see the inside of the fairings on some parts of the bike like around the upper so having a green and blue combo around the upper fairing isnt very attractive.

i also dont think having a set of street plastics as your track plastics is very convinient. the OEM fairings have alot of bolts and fairings that support each other so changing plastics for the track would take alot more time than just adding race plastics that are only 4 pieces total. on the 2005-2006 the zx6r has a total of 8 fairings and all the front fairings connect to each other with ALOT of screws.
