+1. Jewelry is power. Buy her these shiny and sparkly heart warmers and you'll be good to go.

All these strategies are way off. I was sweet talking and bribing my wife for years to let me get the bike I wanted until my brother pointed out the right approach.

Week 1: Baby, I really want the bike but it can be dangerous and I know you depend on me. It's great that you care so much, I love you too and I wouldn't want to have to worry about you either. I guess as long as I have you I don't really need a (bigger, faster, more expensive, etc.) bike after all.

Week 2: All that bike stuff got me thinking about where you'd be without me so I've decided to take out some extra insurance.

Week 3: Spend a lot of time drinking with the guys, come home a little late.

Week 4: Not tonight baby, I have a headache. By the way, is it possible to get warts from a toilet seat?

Week 5: Ooh, look, a Ninja 650 for sale.

I know, it's pretty long term but anybody who can put 13k on a 250 can implement this plan no problem.

You went out and bought a new bike?
