I hope the newer R6 isn't anything like a 99 cuz I hated mine. I rode an 02 recently that felt decent, but it had horrible street tires and felt sketchy due to lack of maintaince. Cdill is gunna let me take his 05 around TWS (Texas World Speedway)

right Cdill?

lots of good looking deal son the racing forums. most arent close enuff to ride and check out, so u better ask one of the racers on here to vouch for a guys word and ask lots of questions. even look through the race logs (or whatever they r called) and see if they crashed or had mechanicals....

I've never really liked really anything about the 636's and for me, the CBR just wasn't comfortable. I think it would behoove you, if you have the oppurtunity to test ride any, to try the different bikes out. Honestly they're all comparable and relatively close in performance....it just comest to rider preference.

Good luck amigo
I agree the honda is not comfortable.. The 07 zx6r on the track is kick and it rides great.. Its real easy to tuck ,, I found it very dificult to fully tuck on my Honda, the GSXr6 is also an awsome bike

why not another RR? It seems you already have one for street. you already know how it rides and still a very good bike.

I have an 06 zx10 and 636, they are completely two different machines with different characteristics. The 636 is very nimble unlike the 10r. Power is the best of the 600, imo. I had an 06 r6 and I didn't like it because of the position. I wasn't comfortable with it on the track. I traded up to the 06 gsxr 750 and I shave a few seconds of lap times because I was comfortable with it. I already discounted a couple of seconds for the power differences. I also rode an 03 600rr and didn't like that either. So, my choice and experience/preference is the 636 or gsxr. Ride it at the track before you buy it.

IMHO, any 600 is the same for your rookie season, it all just comes down to the rider. Look around on the CMRA forums for race-prepped bikes on sale, and find one that is in good shape, comes with a title, and fits your budget.

To be honest, I would almost say get an SV-650 or mini-bike before a 600, they are better learning tools and cheaper to race. I learned more endurance racing on 80cc mini this year then I have learned in the past two years on a 600...

I just missed out on the first one, but there is another one up there now from John O'Donnel on the CMRA bbs classifieds.

His GSXR 600's are VERY well taken care of, and the price is crazy cheap with ALL of the good stuff on it! I missed getting his first one by ONE DAY, and I was really disappointed.

I'm partial to the GSXR too- bulletproof, tons of spares that are easy to get, handle well right out of the box, and make very good power.

Truly, you can't go wrong with just about any '06-newer bike from the big 4.

I've seen the bike Patrick's talking about, that would be another helluva deal
