painting helmet

gave my girlfriend my old helmet its a scorpion exo 700. now she wants a pink and black one. can i just paint this one? we talked bout paintin it a flat black with pink pin stripes. can i just rattle can it or would this mess with the integrity of the helmet?

tape it off, scuff it up with a scotch brite pad, prime it, paint it, wet sand it, clear it, buff it. not it this order persay but you get the idea i hope

Well if the helmet is in good shape with no deep scratches to fill in with putty. Then just wet sand with 600grit and spray the rattle can flat black on it and should hold up just fine. I would use some good paint so it holds up nice and then get it pin striped.
