Thumbs up Road Conditions and Warnings

This thread is to keep MotoHouston riders updated on current road conditions. Please help keep other riders updated of debris, loose gravel conditions, and construction on any of the roads we have group rides.

11-9-08
3090 - I traveled 3090 this morning to find out that it has newly added patches of loose brown gravel in all curves. Please be aware and use caution. Reduce speeds as needed.

The Forest - There was a bicycle race going on this morning around 8:40am. Lots of cyclist racing from Montgomery to Richards. Reduce speeds because I had several cyclist swerve into my lane of travel.

Lets see how long this can last.

Post up road conditions, not po-po alerts or traps. You should be following the laws accordingly.

149 was clear
3090 had almost no gravel but we came through and it had rained at some point so the road was wet in some areas.

FM 3090
Just got done running the North and South ends of 3090 and I must say she is clean as a whistle.

FM 149 Anderson to Richards
Road conditions are good from the 3090 junction to Anderson. On the out skirts of Anderson (about a mile out) heading towards Richards, there is some mud on the road that has hardened. Reduce speed and proceed with caution through this little 50' zone.

FM 149 Richards to Montgomery
On the other side of Richards, past the twin bridges there is also mud on the road there that has hardened. It's right before the first climbing curve before Drifters. Reduce speed and continue with caution through this 75' zone.

Great Thread. And at least it's getting responses. I started one just like this over a year ago, and not 1 response

I-10 Feeder (Eastbound) Between Antoine & Silber:
Alot of construction (dirtwork) for new Apartments/Buildings going up. The trucks are tracking the mud onto the feeder, then packing it down over time. Everytime there's even a little bit of rain, that feeder gets slick. You won't know it, until your on it, and by then it may be too late as you slide out. Almost took me out, but I was able to ride it thru. Easy off the throttle, no brakes, then coast it thru till you find a clean track.

I-45 @ Nasa Rd 1

Texas Sterling, the general contractor for the current I-45 expansion project informed the City that starting Wednesday, March 4th, the NASA Parkway Bridge over I-45 will be closed. The contractor will begin milling up the asphalt on both approaches.

On Thursday, March 5th, the contractor will begin demolition of the bridge. Demolition is scheduled for March 5th through March 9th. The contractor stated that the interstate highway should be open by 5:00 AM on Monday, March 9th.

NASA Parkway will remain closed for up to 70 days (Approximate date of May 14th). Please note that the contractor has major incentives to complete this work early and will probably finish earlier than the May 14th date.

Alternate routes for the Webster area are:
FM 518
Bay Area Boulevard
El Dorado Boulevard
FM 2351 / Clear City Boulevard

The traveling public should expect major delays in the Webster area for the next 3 to 4 months.

I-45N feeder entrance to HWY 96 in League City

Upon making the right to travel onto HWY 96, be aware of nails and other sharp debris all the way to just past the intersection.

I stopped at the stop sign, looked down, and saw I was standing on a pile of nails
