Why would you change the oil, filter, plugs, air filter, or tires on a bike with 2400 miles on it? It's like new.

mostly cause I don't know if its had an oil change lately or if the original oil has been changed, the plugs cause the stock(OEM) plugs are the air filter is stock(most likely) oil filter cause I don't know how you have ridden the bike and don't know if its full of crud and lastly I can ruin a set of tires in less than 500 miles the mileage could be incorrect and no I won't take your word on it, its not that I don't trust you

umm actually it is but its not a reflection upon you or even really questioing your integrity but thats the way it is

no its a starting place for negotiation, but like I said before its your bike, you can ask anything you want for it and refuse any offer, I think a lowball would be something more like a grand under the trade in value, the that would tell me that the offer was BS

Good words to live by:

Of course, you have nothing to loose making a lowball offer on the motorcycle, as long as you do it with good humor and respect. ...
There is something to loose when you people off. In this case if he happens to come up with more money and emails me again I won't be reading his email. So he won't get the bike and as I stated in my ad I don't need to sell the bike.

I have gotten a good deal, but usually only when the person selling hasn't stated don't low ball me. A good deal can be had here but not a low ball deal.

Low balling me when I've said not to is not humorous and it's not respectful of my wishes.

low balling is a guy walking into a dealer on jetski that is listed at 6100, and offers 4k out the door. that just happened actually. pretty funny stuff.

then you need to either do one of 2 things keep the bike or take to a consignment shop if you want to sell it cause one persons idea of lowball isn't the next guys, and please don't take this the wrong way cause I have met you and I think your ok, but who really gives a about your wishes besides you???? not society in general, all you can do is take the good with the bad and blow off what you feel is a lowball(not worth you time) offer

You and all others but about 2 seem to understand what low balling means when you see it. Maybe now that you've been on the receiving end of you'll be more respectful of others when they ask you not to do it.

i just sold off 12 years worth of Honda car performance parts so I got lowballed to death on it all. It was maybe $30k worth of stuff and so far I made $8k, I just ignore it now since I know people are mostly broke and will cry even if you give them a good deal. i gave way too many good deals actually. Just let it roll off and delete emails like that without bothering to reply.

Well just let me put it like this. I truly care what others wishes are and I try to respect them whether they respect others or not. Apparently there have been many others on here who do the same thing because they've said so in this thread and I've had other offers from this board that were just under what I'm willing to take right now but they weren't low . That is respect and I respect them.

Now I know where you stand!

And if you don't want mixed opinions don't ask questions on a board with over what a 1,000 people on it.
Do you have a sign up at your place saying don't come in here and try to low ball us? Or do you just rather invite anyone in hoping you can talk them up to what ever you want to?

That's the difference, I'm not a used car dealer and I've asked people not to treat me like one. Some people will respect that and some won't. I'd rather not deal with the one who won't and I think we've found that out on this thread. Thanks for the help.

Actually you don't, if it were me I prolly wouldn't have even offerd because I do respect or try to, some ones request, but you asked a question and I have tried to give you the probable reasons behind the offer and I am not trying to alienate you as a MH'er or even a brother on a c'rocket I don't personally think the bike is worth what your asking but if your add says no "lowballs" then I wouldn't even waste your time or mine, so please try to understand I am only trying to answer the question you posed and not make any kind of statement..

peace brother, for we all need kindness respect and compassion
