Need quick help v.dead battery

My cousin's battery is dead on his '05 (i think) R1. can't he push start it, or no?

Any help on how to start his bike??

If the lights come on and doesn't have aftermarket fuel/ignition systems that require a minimum 12 v then it is possible, dump clutch in second.


If the lights are dim etc, there may not be enough juice for the ecm to power the injectors/coils etc.


A push start only saves battery voltage the starter would normally rob.

You can jump it w cables; I'd recommend keeping the car off since charging system on a bike is less then that of a car at idle in most cases. If it still wont start then go ahead and start the supply vehicle.

compression is usually to high, in first gear especially. so if a dump in 2nd doesnt work, cage it up! to get a battery that is...
