werd an sv is only a good starter bike because of the throttle control and low gears in turn other than that, they still have alot of power

i still think throttle control was part of this wreck though, i have the exact same bike mine has never just turned of nor has it ever speed up on its own i have a feeling he turned if off then got in a hurry because of the truck behind him, fired it back while still giving it throttle and didnt expect it to go as fast as it did.

I've seen a LOT of wrecked bikes over the years (worked in a few bike shops), and either Honda is using tin foil for their rims now or he's BS'in you about what happened. That is some MAJOR bendage on the rim! It looks like he was heading for the turn WAAAY too hot and couldn't stop it maybe? I got run off the road and hit a curb dead-on on my old KZ1000. I was doing probably 35mph. It bucked me up pretty hard, but only put a TINY dent in the rim. Something just seems sorta weird there. Either way, glad he's alright. Betcha he listens to you from now on!

Just being over excited he coulda hit the ignition switch! I've done that before, on a wed night run around 610! Not a good feeling until u realize what u did and then u get 2 breathe a sigh of relief!

But a noob whose already nervous would definately loose all concentration if that occured!

glad he lived to tell about it.

Maybe now he might listen to you and others but who knows?

Some always have to learn the hard way.

Yeah just talked to him some more he said he wasn't doing the speed limit, he said not sure how day he was going cause he didn't have time to look cause it happened so fast. So far he said it looks like he just needs a front rim, mirror, and tail fairing. I told him to bring it to a shop to have the frame and tripple check make sure they are still true.

Jus be glad his Dumbass didn't really get hurt. Hopefully he learned his lesson. Some people jus have learn on their own and there's really nothing you can do about it. Jus remind him of wat happened and then reem into him if he decides to do something stupid like that again.
