Most folks powder coat them. You can sand them and paint them too, but pc holds up WAY better.

If you're going to powder coat them, I wouldn't paint them at all- that's just one more thing for Scooter to clean off when he pc's them!

Personally, I would go to see Romeo at Sam's and buy some used/ wrecked forks for your bike and take them down to be pc'd (just disassemble them and take the fork tubes out). Then, when you're ready to do your maintenance on your forks, have them reassembled with your pd'd fork legs.

When's the last time your forks were serviced anyway? "Winter" is a good time to take them down to your local Motorcycles Unlimited and get that done...

Do it all at once!
