Houston Motorcycle Street Racing and Stunts

Found this on SpikeTV:

From the good old times..!!! (that of Tom Zizka made the sport look bad on the eyes of the general public, this was before the Westpark Tollway was constructed).

Anyone remember this?? Circa 2001

YEAH>.... those were the good ole days.....thats when sportbikes were the most popular here.....The James Coney island days were a BLAST..... hundreds of bikes there every sat night.

It wasn't too much longer after the Fox 26 news cast that HPD did the huge raid on JCI and KMart......I was at JCI right after it happened and no one was there....LOL

I was at JCI the night of the bust. I left at around 10:30, the bust was around 11:30-12:00

Me with some riding buddies that infamous night, black t-shirt (far right)

MAN......THANKS for the pics.....Boy do those bring back memories.... Those JCI days were my favorite era of riding....From about 98-01(til the bust) I LIVED at JCI every sat night......I loved going up there checking out everyone's new mods they did weekly, talking , watching wheelies, setting up races for Westpark......bad time...

I wish we could get that started again. Maybe we should start a Meet n Greet and have it at JCI on a sat night, just like the old days? I am sure we could get at least 1 good turnout on sat night.

I feel sorry for those here that didn't get to experience the JCI days....

Yeah maybe we should try to get something going on that....?

I could call JCI and see if they would be willing to host it for us. Back towards the end of the old days, JCI were the ones running us off. I would hate to get 100 MH'ers over there and them run us off.

Ofcourse it would HAVE to be on a saturday night. Maybe start around 8-9p. We would have to get a big turn out to make it worthy of a JCI reunion. Maybe we could schedule and post it up 2wks in advance or something. We should probably try it after the first of the year with hunting season and the holidays etc going on. Could be fun though.

JCI was back when I was still dreaming of gettin a bike. I used to drive my truck up there and just walk around lookin and wishin. Then when I finally got a bike went two times. We would go from there to some club then to Westpark. Shortly after that it was no more.

Used to go to JCI back in the days before the bust happened. was outa town that weekend. Also a time or 2 to westpark.
My question is about the news story, what was bad about it? Were they lying?
They seemed to have it correctly.
Comment made that the reporter made bikers look bad.
looked to me like the bikers made bikers look bad.
Watching idiots wheeling up and down westheimer, etc. Saw maybe 5 or 6 bikes over time loop in in front of jci.
yes i contributed to it by watching.
That is one of the reasons that now the law is a felony for wheelies and tickets for watching.
it was fun to watch tho.
What killed JCI was if i remember was city council was gonna pull JCI beer license if they didn't sign the tresspassing thingee.signs went up next week but were like in the bushes and that u couldn't really see them
Problem was the trespassing thingee they was to ask you to leave, if u didn't, u got a ticket. but the night of the jci raid they didn't give anyone the chance. People were inside eating a hot dog and if they were there on a bike they went to jail.
