MSR-H with Speed via TrackVision

Hey, I'm testing some new technology that allows me to integrate the data from the G2X timer with video. So now I can see speed, longitudinal & lateral G's, lap timer, and the track map on the video. There are a couple of low 1:48 laps near the end.

Check it out...

That's really cool, Curt. If you're going to be at MSRH with LMS at the end of the month, I want to check that system out.

The product, TrackVision, is pretty cool. It allows you to take any video stream and sync it with the G2X timing data. This video was filmed with a normal little canon point and shoot digital. Once you have the video and G2x data, you load it on a PC, sync them, and save the resulting movie.

Cool!

Now what would really be neat is a read from the TPS to get a true throttle reading and then rig up something for the front brake...

Agreed. All of that is possible with the G2x, you just need to buy the sensors.

The video/audio is a touch out of sync with the gps data. The brake/acceleration bar is based on accelerometers, not the throttle or brake position. So anytime you ease up on the throttle, you slow down and it is sensed by the accelerometer.

Wow Curt that is just fine! This is the first time I actually got more excited about the electronics than I did about watching the track.

When I'm on the track I never can tell how fast I'm going. It's nice to be able to see it. Like the speed in the keyhole.... who would have guessed it's 48 mph or so... it seems like you are crawling through there.

so actual speed is displayed on your system, how much variance is there between your system and the speed-o of the bike?

sweet set up BTW

The speed is dead nuts on as it's GPS based.
