Track Specific Gearing

Just wondering what gearing everyone is running on their 600's at the local tracks. (Cresson, TWS (Texas World Speedway), MSRH, GSS) I'm going to be at cresson this sunday and want to gear my bike for that track so any suggestions would be great. (07 kawi zx6r)

I geared it down one in the front for MSRH and it made a big difference and
I heard a ridesmart instructor(dirk i believe) mention that he was running -1 and +2 on his kawasaki.

So all you fast guys on 600's please post your gearing for the tracks in our area.

gearing will be different for every person. even people who run the same exact times might not be running the same sprocket setup. it's all preference. generally you want to run the gearing to where you can reach the top of 6th gear on the longest straight.

here's what i use if you want a general idea.

msrh
-1 +4 or -2 +1

msr-cresson
-2 +2

TWS (Texas World Speedway)
-1 +1

haven't figured out my prefered gearing for any of the other texas tracks yet.

careful though, my gearing will put you head over heels and bouncing off the pavement if you don't treat the throttle nicely. does nice lil wheelies when driving out of the corners too.

yeah highsiding is something that i'm worried about so from here on out i'm going to focus more on my throttle control exiting the corners,,,

One of these days, I will invest in some gearing. I just run -1 at all of the tracks.

Me too. I have just been working on my weaknesses before trying to improve the power of the bike. I know where I am still leaving a lot of time on the track. I know I can run quicker with better gearing, but I will still be slow in the same spots.

i'm having problems with braking too soon before corners, is that a weakness of yours or no? ,, i just installed some stainless brake lines yesterday(with the help of cyrick21 ) to see if i can dive in a little deeper now

i hear ya mang... one thing i've come to learn is fast is fast is fast... i've seen jody, jeff and romeo swap out street tires for track tires, roll out with bone stock gearing - and literally wring the fricken outta the bike comin out of the corners...
