In case anybody needs directions:

From Houston,
Take I-45 north to exit#102 in New Waverly, TX.
Turn left on FM-1375 and go approx. 3.5 miles.
Turn right on NF-233 and follow road exactly 2.5 miles to the trail head/parking.

Tom, will you pick me up a yearly sticker? I thought they were $8, but I could be wrong....8, 25, whatever I need to be legit. I have one extra coming with me, but he has a permit already. See you guys there at 9 a.m. I'll be needing to leave SHNF by 1:30 or so, so I may leave a bit early.

let's go with a year long...but make sure I get my moneys worth.

i probably need to be leaving around 1:30 as well, but I could push a bit later if need be. I told the ms. I'd be home by noon, but that was a total lie!

I think it's $5 per day or $25/year.

I think I heard somewhere that if you were with someone that had a permit, that you did'nt have to have one, but not sure if that was for camping or motorcycling.

Anyone know for sure?
The sticker is from TX parks & wildlife; good for a year (Sep.1 to Aug 31) & can be bought locally at a few bike shops. The USFS trailpass is also needed & can be either purchased as & year pass for $25 during business hours @ the SHNF ranger station or by filling out a day pass at the trailhead for $5. The rangers enforce both on all riders & may ticket anyone not in compliance.

Besides the gear, bike, sammich, water and gas. What else is needed?
That pretty well covers it, also bring $5 to stuff in the box for a day pass & get a TPW sticker as mentioned above. I usually bring a camp chair & a few brews for the after ride bullshitting. Also a camera if your so inclined

, we're gonna fill the trailhead parking lot. lol

You get your new hotrod set up for towing yet? I'm thinking I may leave the trailer at home for additional parking room.
