Figure about 25 mpg or so, depending on your throttle hand's manners.

PM me the details and maybe I'll drag my CRF150 out for a spin around the forest. It's been a while.

If you can explain how you are doing this, I may be in since I don't currently have a SA on the bike. Saturday morning works best for me as I need to return by 3 pm as my wife and I have plans for Saturday afternoon/evening.

Making your own is a bit of a trick. You can do it by merely putting some SS scren wire in the baffle near the exit of the exhaust. However, the spark arrestor must be approved by the USFS, and without that stamp on your SA, I don't know how you'd get the park ranger to cut you slack if you get stopped and seriously checked out.

good point

but from what i hear, they aren't big jackasses unless you are acting like an idiot or being rude with them.

and yea, i think we're just gonna put some screening (from home depot or lowes) in the baffle near the exit and wing it.

so i should rig up somethin to carry extra fuel eh?

I'm in either day, and am very familar with the trails. I would suggest camelbacks because once you leave the trailhead, you will be gone for hours. I have seen guys ducttape/ strap water bottles filled with fuel between the tripleclamps behind the front plate and on top of the front fender where it meets the # plate.

Is there gonna be a backup lpan in case of rain? They close the trails if it's too wet.

I think most of the rangers are worried about checking to see that the hunters are legit since dear season just started this last saturday.
Soo leave the camo and orange beenie's at home and you should be fine.
Nobody bothered me last weekend.

Let me know when you guys decide if your gonna camp out or not.

cool deal, i think that's what i'll do with the extra fuel.

as for a back up plan....u can set that up. i have no clue on dirt riding, i just know the forest is a good somewhat local place to go.

and any suggestions on where we should all meet up? maybe somewhere along a main freeway or something, also what's generally a good time to start the trails so we kno what time we should all meet up?

I'm in...maybe +1, we'll see if I can get the flat fixed on this Honda 250 4 stroker by then.... You think a park Ranger will have beef with 3 guys all saying, "what do you mean this isn't a stamped SA?"

As for gas....really? That necessary to strap extra gas bottles? Maybe I'm just not that hardcore yet. LOL!
