Even though I am just begining to ride, I would like to know the basics of this aspect of racing.

With the bike in first gear, rev the motor to a steady 7K and hold clutch it. When you see the green light, its to late.....You have lost the race

btw, put your visor down before you pull up the start line

Rev it up.... when the last light is yellow go......roll off the clutch and on the gas..... Have the clutch out and the gas at WOT as soon as possible, the quicker the better. Give the throttle a lil blip to shift and get to the other end of the track... once you have let the clutch out from the line don't touch it again until you are turning off the track. Thats about it. Its all in the first 60'-330'

same thing.....not actually on it but right after it and before you see green like hooligan said.....if you see green your too late...really no need to worry about cutting a good light at first though, main thing to learn first is gettin off the line and goin down the track

word.

Get to the strip early so you can practice before a lot of people show up, if that track lets you. I know th 1/8 mile at HMP gets busy after 9Pm but before 9, the strip is empty

Take a Mh meet to the track with 30 bikes. We have done it twice that I know of. There were no accidents or mishaps. Take the same number of bikes to the forest. Chances are someone will lose some skin. It would seem that the 1/4 track is safer.
