they built them and they originally looked good. but the need for expansion and lack of room to do it has created this engineering nightmare.

It's very easy if you can read the signs and understand the general direction of Houston's main freeways. What's the alternative? Huge roundabouts where it's hard to get over and your f*&ked if you miss your turn?

well, what do you expect. would you rather not have any on and off ramps to get from one hwy to another? i dont see anything wrong with any of those images. yea, i might look complex from the aerial view ... but think about it ... when you on a hwy, you have 2 choices ... stay on or take a ramp exit that has 2 directional options (north or south / east or west).

I'll take a few spaghetti bowls vs. what I had in Oklahoma City: a few freeways that skirted the edges of town. So basically....you spent 15 minutes on city streets after you get off the freeway cuz they don't run anywhere useful at all!

Sounds simple, but assuming that you never have been to Houston, take 59 North and try to end up on Allen Parkway via I-45

It's really not that bad. I lived in downtown for awhile and I learned almost every ramp to freeways from varies location. It's the traffic that's ridiculous.

That's actually kinda difficult, but the OP was talking about the massive spaghetti bowl interchanges required on large freeways and not getting on Allen Parkway from the South. Is that even possible w/o going through downtown? I get on Allen Parkway from the North all the time but I don't think it's easy from the south (just like getting on Memorial from the North)
