A rotary engine , well, uses a couple of, let's say, kinda rounded triangled rotors. No, it doesn't use pistons. Currently only Mazda uses this kind of engine on the RX-8. Other name for this engine is Wankel, after it's inventor, Felix Wankel.

And yeah, that guy's so stupid, puting japanese stuff on a Rustang.

there u go...
its kinda weird... the triangular rotor unit oscilates around the spinning shaft as it turns, thus creating compression on each opposing oscilation.

Look Charlie Brown, he just wanted to know what a rotary was,not a full blown detailed, yadda, yadda, class about this engine including every single obscure detail about it.

If he wanted to, all he has to do is Google the info. but thanks for the tidbit of info,Einstein.
