Track Riders Section? Possible?

Just curious.

What would the likelihood be, of a Track Riders section being created? Somewhere that those of us that do not race yet or race only periodically, but do track days regularly, could hang out and post, ask questions, talk about experiences, etc.

As it stands now, some of us use the racers forum and that doesn't always go over well.

Because as we all know, and have been told umpteen time, "it isnt a race, it's a track day."

I certainly understand, that if I was a racer, and someone who was not, was giving feedback in a "racers" forum, that I might pop off to them. But if it was a "track riders" section, that would eliminate all that. Or at least some of it. Ok, maybe just a TINY bit of it.

Thoughts?

+1 on that, I don't ride the streets but don't race yet.

Track Day forum, FTW.

I'd rather the Racer and Track riders sections together. The insight from the racers is very valuable to the track guys as we are gaining experience.

I've asked all my track day related questions in the racers forum, and I am FAR from a racer, and so far everyone, especially the racers have been cool about answering my noob quetions. everyone has been totally cool to me

edit: and to add to that, who better to help a noob than someone who has been there and progessed to the point of being a compitent racer

Absolutley, I do not deny that the racers have invaluable experience to offer. I value all of thier suggestions and look to them for help. Many of them have helped me greatly.

Sometimes though, I am hesitant to post "my experience" as the inevitable "you are not a racer you can possibly know what you are talking about" insinuation will come.

And if that is the case, then so be it. I'm cool with it all.

I agree. But, have you ever followed a racer around the track? They are like, "sure dude, follow me Ill show you the lines."

Then they are 10 seconds faster than you, riding one handed, at what they call a slow pace, and you are back there saving crashes every corner, trying to keep up

Ok, I exaggerated a lil. Not alot tho.

edit:I hope you know I'm a little sarcastic... about the saving yourself from a crash in every turn part that is.

stop listing what u sold here - nobody cares...

not every racer is a great racer... not every great racer is a great teacher...

sometimes it's what you say and sometimes is how you say what you say that can get you flamed in there...

be that as it may - i've NEVER met a racer/rider *at the track* that wouldn't hesitate to help a fellow rider...

it's just the internet...

gotta take the good with the bad sometimes...
