More Marines killed by Motorcycles than enemy fire......

This is a pretty serious topic in the Marine Corps. now'adays

Before I left, a lot of units were forming riding groups to try and curve people away from going out and getting stupid on the street. They would take some of the more experienced riders and they would hold classes teaching proper riding techniques. Some of those very riders were ones who gave up street riding and just did trackdays. I, sadly to say, was one of those Marines that loved to get stupid out on the road. We would spent a great deal of time out on the backroads/twisties of North Carolina and weekend trips to Deal's Gap......thinking we knew what we were doing. I've known a couple of these very Marines this story was written about, who have lost their lives to riding........hence my decision to leave street riding in the past.

Seeing this on CNN, makes the feeling that I was once one of them......only more surreal. It makes me really appreciate the decision I made to get on the track.

This could be a good story for those of you to tell, that have those buddies who like to get "stupid" out on the streets. That belongs on the track and is most certainly not worth your life.
