FI light help after quick shifter install

So I updated the firmware per dynojet and the rest is plug in and go. I set the kill time at 60ms. It works great, but after a quick spin around the block I get the FI code. I tried to re-update the firmware and I still get it. I have changed maps also. I didnt mess with anything else. Anyone have any ideas?

dude if you didnt mess with anything else then I dont really know what could have gone wrong. Maybe while tooling around a short or connection issue came around with the sensor?

Do you have an ignition module? If not there lies your problem. With the QS you need the PC and IM.

No ing. needed on my bike I tripple checked that. Its a 2005 gsxr 600. I have called DJ and taked to 2 different peeps including Patrick. All agree that no ign. module is needed. Nothing else was messed with. I suspect it had to do with the firmware update. I was wondering if disconnecting the battery will reset something.

I am not sure if your PCIII is killing the coils or the injectors for the ignition kill but, if its killing the coils, it will definetly throw the FI light. All air shifters and electric shifters throw the FI light. Both of my bikes do it. Find the dealer plug under the seat and jump it across with a wire or paper clip WHEN the FI light is flashing, it will throw a code up on the dash display. If the code is a C23,24,25,25(I believe these are the 4 codes) each one is for each coil that was killed by the kill box. If its throwing a C32, 33, 34, 35 code, those are the injectors. Its probably gonna throw the FI light either way. I would check the code so you know what it is at least but I wouldn't worry about it. The FI light is only on when you are using the shifter, once you turn off the key and restart, the light will be off. Not sure if you have a toggle switch on the shifter or not but..... I have both of mine toggled off until I am racing, then hit the switch.

How does it work? does it shift good?

I should correct my post, there are a FEW kill boxes that don't trigger the FI light. I know the MPS kill box and the Cycle Tek kill boxes don't trigger the FI light but most of the others do. Not sure about the dynojet stuff though....maybe they do, maybe they don't. Make sure you don't have your kill time TOO short, if you do, it can tear up the tranny. You want it to kill long enough to complete the shift but not kill so long that it slows you down.

It was at 70 and I lowered it to see if was cool. At 60 it feels and sounds just as good as 70. I dont feel the need to go lower. I dont care about the light so much as the loss of my temp. The fi is displayed where my temp should be. If I was running lean and hot I wouldnt know it.

You talking about 60 miliseconds? That should be fine but I wouldn't speed it up anymore then that. Usually 50 ms and they start missing gears. Yeah having the FI light all the time would suck . I guess there is no way you could put a toggle switch inline on the wires from the solinoid/sensor thing to turn off the ground signal so it doesn't kill the ignition(ie. turn it off) got normal riding? Gotta have the temp gauge working.

Yeah call em and let them link up to it and see what its doing. Ask them if its normal to throw the FI light. I would still check the codes and see what they are. Seeing as how the PCIII doesn't tie into the ignition, it has to be killing the injectors so I bet its the injector codes(C32,33,34,35). Sucks to kill by pulling fuel though, if you spray it, you will have to put an RPM window switch on it to kill the spray before you shift it and what sucks about that is, if you have to short shift it due to a wheelie or something, its gonna keep spraying while the injectors stop.....
