YZF-R6L complaints and recalls?

I went and bought insurance for my bike today and noticed it listed my bike as:

"2001 YAMAHA YZFR6L"

I wasn't sure what R6L is, so I did a google search for "yzfr6l"

Results such as "recalls", "complaints", and "safety problems" came up. Most of the complaints are about the sidestand screw falling out due to engine heat and vibration.

Should I be worried about this?

Wow, what a helpful response.

If you're worried about it, just keep an eye on the screw and check it every now and then, or put some LIGHT duty (blue) thread locker on the bolt.

Thanks Blue91, I'll definitely look into getting some thread lock.

I haven't encountered any problems with it yet. *knock on wood* There use to be a loud popping noise when shifting between 1st and 2nd, but I've gotten better at clutch control, so no more noise

And yes, I finished the basic ridercourse at Awesome Cycles about a month ago; great instructors there. I had Louie and Anthony.

Although, I was wondering if there's a motorcycle maintenance class I can take? I've been reading the owner's manual and around MH as much as I can and I've learn quite a bit

Check the Motorcycles Unlimited forum here. Patrick usually holds a basic maintenance class once a month and it's a great thing to attend.
