Knobbies won't work on ice... he actually takes screws and screws them in through the inside of the tires carcass. There is also some sort of adhesive on the screws so they stay in place under the hard conditions. There is a school that this vid comes from, I think it's in Norway. This is kinda old school, but not a repost on here. I'll see if I can find the link to the riding school...

^^ yeah, that's it. I new it was something about the tires. I have seen them doing this on TV. Though I thought remember the knobbies. Maybe there was spikes in the knobs. oh well.
