you're up in spring, take it to Motorcycles Unlimited... they are VERY reasonable and know what they are doing!

Occasional popping is usual with aftermarket exhausts. You only need to re-jet if performance is lacking. A quick way to tell is to read your plugs on a carbureted bike. White = too lean, black/ wet black = too rich. Likely, you'll have white color plugs if you ad an exhaust.

Chances are though, it's just a normal part of replacing a stock exhaust with an aftermarket.

Is it the full exhaust or slip on?

If it's a slip on, I definitely wouldn't worry about it at all. Full exhaust I would get a jet kit and install it.

If you run in to an issue, I would hit up Motorcycles Unlimited and have them install the jet kit for you.

Again though, if this is a slip on exhaust, I wouldn't even give it a second thought.

Leave it alone then, it's all good.

If you're worried about it, check your plugs. If it's ashy white, it's too lean, wet black too rich.

I doubt you'll see anything out of the ordinary.

If you're having performance issues (like significant loss of power), you'll need to have the carbs looked at and possibly a jet kit.

I'm sure you'll be fine.

i like the popping noises from mine during deceleration -- i think in the stock exhaust there was a servo to prevent this and i heard that power commander eliminates this,, i'm not sure about carbed bikes
