help with triple trees

i need to press out the stem on a set of gsxr triples and press the stem out of some bandit triple trees then press the bandit stem into the gsxr set up. the dimensions are the same where it is pressed into the trees but i need the longer and skinnier stem of the bandit. so anyone got any info for me. i tried to press out the gsxr on my 20+ ton press but got scared that i would break the cast aluinum lower triple tree. i think patrick from Motorcycles Unlimited has done this mod it would be greatly appreciated any info i recieved. i just wanna know if it is possible to do.

Depending on the year, there is a retaining clip on the GSXR lower triple clamp for the stem.

Also, depending on the year/ model of the GSXR triple, the stem is either aluminum, titanium or steel, so heat affects them all differently.

Gentle heating of the lower triple clamp around the stem should work for you to press out the old stem. Put the Bandit stem in the freezer for a couple hours before trying to press it in to the GSXR lower.

Make sure first that the lower GSXR triple clamp does not have a retaining clip before you try to press the stem
