Whatever you need help with within my realm of knowledge and skills. If you need a computer built, computer fixed, need a lesson in something, whatever. (does not include parts. ie: if you got angry and drop kicked your screen on your laptop i will help you get a new one and install it but I ain't shelling out the $$$ for your screen )

Here's the Gist:

MH members may volunteer either an evening with him or herself, a set of services, or an item for other members to bid on. The funds will be collected and turned over to a pre-selected charity.

Here's How it Works:~There are two ways to donate.

The first involves offering your actual person to other MH-ers. It can be as simple as "an evening with you," or if you have the opportunity to provide someone with a unique experience, you can put that up for bid.

For instance:
  • SBFuller has offered to take whoever wins him on the ultimate tour of NASA. You'll experience far more than the usual VIP guest!
  • Mala has offered to take one lucky winner on an evening of dumpster diving. At the end of the night, I’ll even present you with an official Certificate of Completion authenticating your new dumpster skillz.
The second part of the auction involves items/services.

For instance:
  • Pyrofallout will donate his mad computer skillz. The winner will be able to contact him for help with whatever techie problems he or she may need hardcore geek help with.
  • Mala will donate a piece of original Mala-Art.
How to Volunteer
Anyone who wants to donate his or her person or an item/service for auction should PM Scatter or Mala with a brief description. The deadline to do so is midnight, Wednesday October 29th.

The Auction
Once the deadline for volunteering passes, we'll compile the info and be open for bids. Detailed instructions will be provided when we post the auction info.

The MH community will have until midnight, Thursday, November 6th to place their bids.

The Reveal
We'll meet @ 3pm Saturday, November 8th at Memorial Park to reveal who the winners are and the grand total we've raised for charity.

This will be your chance to pick up physical items won in the auction; those who win an "intangible" such as a person or service, will be presented with a voucher.

TIMELINE:
  • Accepting volunteers for the auction until midnight, Wednesday October 29th
  • Bidding will stop @ midnight, Thursday, November 6th
  • Winners will be announced @ 3pm Saturday, November 8th at Memorial Park
General Map http://www.houstontx.gov/parks/memorialpark.html

* A detailed map showing specific meet location will be posted next week.

The Charity

We’ve decided to work with Houston’s Adopt-a-Family organization. They still have the info for 2007 posted on their website, but if you’d like to visit it: http://www.houstonchildrenscharity.org/adaf.html
bump! y'all got today to offer yourself or your services up for bidding!!

Ya'll gots till midnight to donate yourselves.

We have an awesome selection already, but I wants morrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre! Make it impossible for this poor, kitteh-loving English teacher to resist multiple bidding. I wants to chew my nails in nervous anticipation...I wants to feel the excitement of worrying and wondering whether I'll be able to outbid everyone and win.
