FYI, the Qualifier was invented by the various tire brands to put down "the" lap. Ensuring the best grip position and thus trying to dominate the other brand. If everyone is on the same tire, the tire manufacturers have no need for them. It also cuts the manufacturing cost down considerably. They do not have qualifying tires in WSBK/WSS. They sometimes qaulify on softer rubber than thier race selection, but there is not a true qualifying tire. Rossi & Stoner have both been advocates of eliminating qualifying tires, and it seems they have gotten thier wish.

Qualifying was strange... it started to rain on parts of the track when the riders were getting their race tires sorted, and then they all started coming in (except Nicky, who was consistently bringing lap times down...). Once they all came in and got intermediates/ full rains, it stopped raining, so those that went out came in again and by then it was time for qualifiers!

Given Nicky's pace on race tires, he stands a great chance at a podium here. Michelin does well at Valencia anyway, so I think it's certainly doable!

Vale will show his dominance again methinks, and Stoner will start strong and get sucked up by lap 10...

Wanna bet on that!!!!! j/k lol i don't bet, stoner came late in the game cause they changed the shock. I think Dingo has in in hte bag although he hasn't tested that shock/setting the whole weekend but the quali, we will see. Rossi should get up there lets just see if the top runners don't get to far ahead of nurse.

John
intresting
I was always under the impression that the one lap "Superpole" in WSBK was ridden on a full on qualifier
