Check the Mercedes Benz track, iirc, when my bud had a membership there, he only paid $30 to ride all day. Of course, that comes with the membership and maintenance fees too I'm sure the info is on the site.

Also, I seem to remember GSS having some kind of fee structure like that.

Not to mention Katy- , the track is the same size! (almost)

are u talkin about MSRH ? i dont know this Mercedes Benz track u speak ? a $7000 initiation fee is a little different than a $500 anual fee Tom. and are u sure that isnt $30 per session ?

Jody, Jody, Jody, that's what I was talking about when I said: "$30/ day annual fees", and yeah, this is the Mercedes Benz Sugar Land Road Course in Angleton. I guess people still call it MSRH out of habit though it has been the Mercedes Benz blah blah blah for quite a while now.

When my bud had his membership, he paid $30 to ride all day. Of course, that was after he paid his membership fees and monthly fees too.

I wasn't trying to say it was the same as the $500 membership, the original post was "why can't we have $30/ day track days here" and I was showing that you can

Besides, isn't Katy even cheaper than that? Isn't it like $250 or $300/ year or something?

regardless of tracksize or anything ... $30 a person trackday is where its at ... i probably would do what pyro said and do EVERY trackday if it was that cheap

$8800 up front to get $30 days doesnt sound like fun to me ... unless someone wants to loan me that

Greg, if that track you linked turns you on, why not just join Katy? Except for elevation changes, it's not much different, and I'm pretty sure Katy is cheaper than that track too.

I like the Katy track, and if I would get off my and start running again, I could actually consider buying a mini and run out there again.

That's all fine and dandy, but, if you put a pencil to it, track days such as LSTD are still cheaper. If you rode every weekend (52 weeks)you would spend about 200.00 per day. I'll pass.

The membership in Katy is $350 which equals $29.10 a month. SO you could run even cheaper.

BUT let's say MSR-H would let you rent the track all day for $30 .. how many people do you think would be there... right sharing it at the same time with 100 people is no fun.

if msr-h was 7 days a week at $30 a day im sure i could gather us 5-10 friends on a weekday and have a blast for $30 ... yes SOME weekends might be packed but for $30 a day ill take that chance
