An hour later I made it back to work and bummed a ride home. I don't even wanna know how long it would have taken me to get home on the bike, or if I would've even made it. I hope my jacket dries out by tomorrow so I can go riding again

I will be watching the weather channel a lil more closely from now on. Okay not so funny story over.

Buy some rain gear some pants and a jacket ... riding in inclement weather can be a challenge however the right gear will make it more comfortable

Ya, been there many times...like everyone said, trust your tires. If you ride to work like I did, pack one of these, they work and it's really compact, will fit in a backpack easily.

Like everyone else mentioned trust tires concentrate on being smooth on acclerating and braking. You stay away from the center of lanes and stops especially when it is raining. Ask xRacerx when his car was down kept calling stating he was riding the first Honda Jet Ski. Good rain gear helps a bunch.

I got stuck in the rain on the way home from buying my first bike 25 years ago. I had already gotten a license, but back then, hardly anyone wore a helmet. I had on a t-shirt, tennis shoes and no helmet. RAIN HURTS AT 55MPH! I commute on my bike now and ALWAYS carry a rainsuit (and ALWAYS wear my gear)!

I rode yesterday in the rain for the first time. It wasn't so bad considering traffic on the freeway was stop and go and the rain wasn't beating that hard. although a lot of cagers still cut me off because i was going the speed limit on the street. I guess they will never understand.

Just turn you head side to side and the wind acts as windshield wipers.

And for the total tech geeks. They make little rubber blades that mount on a finger and you just wipe it across your visor to clean it. And squoddy......No, I DON'T own one!

I didn't know that until I got laughed @ by Justine because I would wipe it off repeatedly on a ride.

to be honest, I didn't turn around because of the water. I got soaked completely in the first minute I got caugt in the rain, + getting stuck at a red light and having passing cars send waves of water at me thanks to the drainage.

My biggest concern was not being able to see at all, I tried putting my visor up but that didn't help to much in the heavy rain. I don't know how you can ride in heavy rain and be able to see I guess
