Teen Riding Motorcycle To School Dies In Accident
Van Involved In Accident Stops After Witness Flags Driver Down

POSTED: 10:58 am CST December 1, 2005
UPDATED: 11:13 am CST December 1, 2005

HOUSTON -- A ride to school for a northwest Harris County high school student turned deadly Thursday morning when his motorcycle slammed into a van, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Investigators said the 17-year-old student was riding his motorcycle south on Gosling Road when the van traveling in the opposite direction turned in front of him near Dovershire at about 8 a.m.

Authorities said the van kept going but stopped short time later after a witness flagged the driver down.

No charges have been filed against the driver.

The teen was wearing a helmet.

Deputies have not released the student's name.

When they release the name, maybe we could get together some funds and send a plant to the family. I don't believe in sending flowers that wilt and die, but sending a plant that will flourish and grow.

me off the van driver wasn't charged. He left the scene and only stopped because he was busted by another driver. Also it said the van turned in front of the bike. Is that not an offense either? But if a biker just sneezes wrong, he gets multiple tickets.

RIP

a biker gets charged because a police man on the other side of the highway (or in a different county) was killed attempting to chase him... but if someone kills a biker its not a big deal... im going to protest and burn tires ....

That's really awefull. I bet that kid had to argue a lot to get his parents to let him ride to school. I hope they are going to make it through this. Rest in peace
