I've been known to hang out at Jimmy's. I know Les Means hangs out there and I've had a few beers with him there.

I used to put on a hot rod get together at Jimmy's on the first Sunday of every month, and Les got the Ton Up club to show up also on the same day. We have moved both to the Dark Horse Tavern. Hot Rods is the first Sunday of every month, and the Ton Up meets there the second Wednesday.

This coming Sunday November 2nd is kinda special because the Brit Bike swap meet that Les is putting on coincides with the hot rod thing. Should be fun.

I found it in Conroe for $4,500.00 It looked nice and has had some reasonable upgrades (electronic ignition, sun alloy rims, SS spokes, turn signals removed, Avalon tyers) but was missing bad on one cylinder when you got past idle. It was all carb related. Between having the Amal bodies honed, the sliders sleeved with stainless, and the rebuild kits I probably have $200 in the carbs.

The clutch locked up the first week I had it, but all I did was tear it apart clean the plates and put it back together. Works fine.

Cool M-Bars = Much better!

Vintage Triumphs have handle bar clamps known as "P-clams" with a circular member to grip the bar and one bolt on the back side to tighten the "C" shape grabbing the bar. As a result you can't just put any old bars on the bike because they have to slip the bar through these clamps which do not open very wide.

Ace or Clubman bars, for example, will not make it through the P-clamps. So to solve this problem for their factory racers Triumph came out with the M-bar. It is like an Ace / Clubman bar but with more soft curves instead of the radical angles.

That is what I put on my Bonnie. She looks great. Love it!

Put on new bar end mirrors. They are much, much, better than my shaky 35 year old stockers. They are Emgo units painted black to match the tank and frame.
