It was an awesome weekend to say the least. First of all thanks to Fred and Joanne Ally with CMFR for thier support this weekend, and Sunny for the chain.

We left late Monday night and finally arrived around 5pm on Tuesday. We then waited till around 5 or so on Wednesday before we were able to get out paddock space claimed. First thing i said when i saw the banking was there was way the did i come here. When looking at it it looks straight up and down, but its only 31 degrees. We were unable to unload until thursday AM before the Trackday. I skipped out the first session while i was getting gearing and all that nonsense figured out. Finally it came time to get out there for the first time. The infield was really simple just a couple rights and a few lefts and next thing you know your on the bank. First time sucked but i just took Larrys advice and pinned it the first time out to get the fear out.

BLA BLA BLA we go through Thursday and i felt good but still had about 10 seconds to drop to get on pace to run up front. I was at a 2:10 first day and dropped it down to a 2:02, for some reason it was hard to judge how late to brake coming in to turn 1. (Right after the start finish line your still pinnned 6th gear WOT doing close to 170 on a 600) That turn was my weakness all weekend.

Come the first race on saturday i was not feeling very good for reasons that will be seen later, but I picked up a 7th in that race. Sunday rolled around and i was the first race of the AM and gridded in the second to last row, so i just went out and rode and ended up in a good battle the whole race and picked up 5th. All in all it was a good week in Daytona, It was my birthday this week so Bill Drake and Joe took me out for my b-day. Im sure pictures will surface as i didnt have my camera the weekend.

It is 1st gear, but you dropping 5 gears and theres not much of a reference point to know where to start braking.

I think his problem was going all the way from 6th gear pinned, down to 1st for that tight lefty, coming off the banking. At least that's how his description came off to me........

Sure would leave skin marks in my drawers.

Thank for slipper clutches.....

From the top of 6th to 1st gear
