Stompgrip is blingy junk. It hinders your movement on the bike and doesn't allow you to make adjustments with body position as needed. YMMV, though. Ty uses it; Rossi doesn't.

I was thinking about getting some too ... when I go hard on the brakes, I get slammped forward into the tank a lot ... I guess I just need to work out my inner thighs more ... so far I've only seen girls on that machine at the gym.

Ty also ran the Moto-ST 8 hour at Daytona that did not finish until 9pm saturday then was at TWS (Texas World Speedway) sunday doing pretty good. I think you could put Ty on a stock out of the box bike and him still go real fast.

Oh I agree, I'm just saying that putting a blanket statement out there like "Stompgrip does not work" should be considered an opinion, not the gospel. Plenty of "fast" guys use it, some don't. If someone wants to try it, good.

I don't have any problems with my Tech-Spec tank pads. They aren't as grippy as the stomp grip pads which I like b/c they have never restricted my body position at the track (as far as I know) Of course, I'm not fast so, maybe someone like :cough: Larry Myers :cough: wouldn't like them because he moves around the bike a lot faster than us and doesn't want anything to restrict him (esp. during a race)

techspec-usa.com if you want info Jerran V

Adam, if you are still riding on the street, I think you would like them. It helps me to get a better grip on my tank and take pressure off the bars.

agreed, you pay shipping on tech-specs though, however they come with a center pad.

I had them on both my GSXRs and recommend them at every chance to anyone who actually listens to my recommendations.

I didn't ride on the track but I rode on a lot of canyon-ish runs at full lean. They were useful, gave me a lot more confidence to hang off the bike.

On two up riding they save your nuts from clumsy female passengers slamming you into the tank.

Just normal street riding they let you take weight off your wrists, make longer trips more comfortable... i dunno. i love em. Never had a problem with them sliding either.

I got both mine from chaparral racing, it was the only place i could find them (aside from trackside vendors during motorcycle races at the tracks). I didn't know patrick had them or I'd have probably bought them there.
