I am another on the list....I used to ride the street only and ride it hard and fast. Didn't think I could afford to take it to the track. Had a pretty nasty get-off on the street..luckily wearing gear and was not killed! Decided to take it to the track. Now I am definitely addicted to the track and street riding doesn't hold the same appeal. Still enjoy getting out with friends on occasion for a ride but not too often.

This thread wasn't intended to be snobbish, or belittle anyone for their choices.

The track saves lives, without a doubt. I will still take some mountain trips. I don't believe any rider could ever get totally off of the public roads. This country has entirely too many beautiful roads.

I've ridden every mountain range in the country, from the Cascades to the Appalachians, and all in between, and I want to do it again. I think that the track creates an awareness that you're not invincible, and those crazy speeds should be left for controlled environments.

I'll get back to public roads, but it will be far and few between.

The trick to riding on the street is to have the will power to roll off the throttle.

I have seen way too many "SMR" rides where the straight away speeds are triple digits, yet the corner speeds are not much over the posted lmits.. which goes to prove anyone can twist the wrist.

Ask some of the OG's like Patrick if they still enjoy riding the streets.....

The track is the place to pin it and run at 110%.. doing it on the street is just plain dumb.
