I used to ride the streets every chance I got. But I met a friend one day who showed me this thing call a Track! I didnít know what it was or the things you could do on it! It made me feel incredible, like I was superman or something! It started out with just a lil at first! Once a month or So?...Now I Trackday any chance I get! I canít get enough track at all! I think Iím doing too much track.... but then I wonder if there is such a thing as too much track. I caught myself going through my olí ladyís purse the other day so I could score some track time. I even once made a sign that said will work for track time and stood on a corner. Iíve even started calling in sick at work just so I could do some track! Every biker that past me shook their heads, but when they gave money they said they under stood my pain. Its going on two years now, and I need to get control of it.....

After we lost Matt, and having to deal with losing a friend my wife asked me to consider giving up the street riding. Not only in fear of having an accident, but avoiding the speeding tickets and "operating a motorcycle on wheel" tickets Needless to say, I get my fix at the track...and when that gets too expensive I hit the dirt!!! BRAAAAAAAAAP!!!!!!

they can be expensive or cheap, depending on how you do it and how cheap YOU can go.

you can corner work for free track time
you can use your current street tires
you can use your current street plastics
you can split gas with a few people to get to track
you can split hotel rooms if its too far away
you can eat cheap(some trackday orgs now feed you breakfast and lunch)
(this list can go on and on)

or..

you can pay full price and not corner work
you can buy race rubber for every trackday
you can convert your bike to track only
you can tow your bike to every track by yourself and pay full price for gas, hotel etc.
(this list can also go on and on.)

As Chris mentioned, there are ways to earn track time by corner working, but check the website www.lstd.com and see the pricing structure. Price is dependent on track.

Use your street bike and street tires, it's all good!

They can be. That is why you cornerwork for track time and that takes a BIG chunk out of the cost.

Why dont you come out this weekend, we will be at Grandsport both saturday and sunday and you can see how everything runs. You are also more than welcome to sit in on some of the novice class and that will give you a little bit of an idea of what you learn at the track.

As far as TTD if you cornerwork, ALOT of our weekends are 2 day weekends so you can cornerwork one ride the other.

Breakfast and lunch are included as well as water, so all you have to bring is drinks if you want something different, snacks, gas, your bike and yourself.

I forgot to mention if you do come out be sure and be there for lunch.... that way you can do the parade laps and get a taste of the track. You must wear over the ankle boots, jeans, gloves, and helmet at the bare minimun.
