Choosing between Kawi 04 ZX-6R (636) and 04 GSX-R 600

Which one would you choose.
The kawi would have pretty much all track components, including slipper clutch.
Gixxer would have suspension, rearsets, full exhaust, plastics.

Thanks.

I like Suzuki's and used to be die-hard Honda. Time has taught me that all of the bikes in this modern era have something good to offer, all of them are way better than I am.

All that said, I'd hit up the 'Zook much sooner than the ZX simply because of the possibility of tranny issues. It may not happen, and something else may happen to the 'Zook too, but that is the chance you take when buying used.

The 'Zook has a much more solid engine/ tranny IMHO, and it has a great reputation on the track from that generation.

Tranny issue with the Kawi's started with the 2006 models... I had a 2005 with not one issue ever.

Having ridden & raced both... I'd go for the Kawi. It drives so much better than a gixxer, and just seemed like an overall better built bike.

Sorry Tom

Heck, I don't care, I'd buy the 'Zook anyway!

I haven't ridden and 04-05 gsxr but have with the 04 & 06 636. i say go with the Kawi. I am now riding gsxr750 and it's about the same riding profile as the 636 even though the 636 sit a lot higher.

Actually it started with the 05 ZX-6R. The problem is still around in a few 06's, but not many. I've only known one person personally out of the 10 or so I know with 05-06's to have a tranny problem, and that's Dudewhrsmybikes with his 05.

The 03-04 6R is a great bike, with no tranny issues.

cool guys. Really appreciate the help.

I am narrowing down the list to:

06 gsxr 600
05 gsxr 750
04 zx-6R

Hope to have only one name on the list by tonight or tomorrow am.

my 06 was one of the ones that had a problem, it would jump out of 2nd gear under full load.

Oh well, glad I traded it in

I still cannot get in touch with the 05 gixxer 750 guy, and need to confirm with the kawi person. Looks like the 600 is a long shot now. We will see very soon.
