Took the flame stickers off the R6

I can't say enough good things about this bike but I never really cared for the flames. They're ok but I figured I could live without them, so I took them off the other day.

Have to say I'm digging the "new" look:

R6New01

vs the "old"

2008 YZF R6 001

To my immense surprise...the paint was still wet in a spot on the right side fairing. As soon as the sticker came off I could smell paint but thought no way in could it still be wet. It sure as heck was...no telling how long it had been out of the factory and sitting at the dealership, but it had to be months for sure.

Guess I have to give the factory credit, the sticker was on air tight

Anyway, I like the bike alot better without flames. It lost some of the 'newness' feel to take them off, but I like the lines and angles better without them.

You just lost half your poser points. Nofear would be ashamed of you.

Now get you some tank sliders. Ever heard of a "HOT" R6?

Looks good without the flames... Good with them, too. Now you need to get some flushmounts and a fender eliminator. A bigger priority IMO.

What did you use to get the stickers off?

My wife's fingernails and a lot of cursing on my part . It was a b*tch and half to get them all off

I agree on the flushmounts and fender kit, I've been researching both. I can't see any significant differences in kits other than price though...is there any real difference in kits? Or maybe a specific manufacturer that R6 owners go for? Thats all thats holding me up really, is knowing what is the best value for the money (ease of installation a plus too!)

As far as fender elim. What EXACTLY are you looking for? Undertail or at the end of the tail? Integrated tail light? Some come with blinkers some don't. I think I used zero gravity... Will have to check. I also have an integrated led tail light. Cleans up the backend on a 08 R1 LE NIIIIICCCEEEE!!! Hang on I'll get you a link.

Hey thanks for the link Tia, that 16Y08 (not limited) is what I'm looking for. I like that it uses the existing light too, sounds simpler to install.

And thanks for all the comments from everyone, I appreciate it. To you guys that like the flames better...well, sorry lol
