Going to pick up mah first bike!

Wow it's finally gone through and hopefully I'll be riding home on my first bike today! Even though I'm confident, I still just hope that I don't drop it in the parking lot and look like a gaf

Super excited and just in time for the nice weather which will last for about a week before it's back to being either too hot or too cold.

Anyways, I'm wondering if the same thoughts go through everyones head before they ride off for the first time on the first bike. I'm really anxious to pull out of the parking lot. Still, the only thing I'm afraid of is multi-tasking drivers juggling their cell-phones, lunch, and beating their kids in the back of the tahoe all at once.

Here's to me ending up at home on my new bike and not on the news! w00tberries!

If you can pick it up on a trailer. Keep it on the backroads for a while and get used to it

The guy I bought my bike from delivered it for me. I also rode around the neighborhoods for 2 months before taking it out.

wow I should have read this earlier. I rode it home from 45 to 290 today, granted I did take backroads. I was pretty comfortable, and as I thought I would be I was very wary of every person that got even a little too close or looked like they might pull out in front of me, but hopefully that keeps me alive. I'm in love again!!!!zomg!11!

I'm disappointed at what we have become.

I bought my first bike in 1980, it was an 850 yamaha. I wore a borrowed helmet with a taped on faceshield. I had no jacket and no gloves or boots.
The day I picked it up it was raining so hard you couldn't see across the street. The salesman asked if I wanted to leave it at the shop until the next day when the weather woud be better.
I said, " no! I don't care if I have to swim and drag the bike behind me. I'm taking it home today!" (I was pretty excited)
Then I spent the next couple of months breaking it in on backstreets.

Trailering home a new bike....
