I have been riding 4 years now and have never once ridden a passenger! I just don't feel comfortable doing so because I can't flatfoot any of my bikes!!

to me it never gets comfortable, there movements can greatly influence the way you handle the bike, make sure when you lean they lean teach them signs like tapping you on your shoulde as a way of communication

ive given about 16 rides to all of my friends some are better on the back than others but im already comfortable with the feeling of some1 on the back. im not going to say that its the same as having myself only on the bike but i just have to be more cautious on all my reactions as far as braking and speeding up... nothing too sudden give time for the person on the back to react and to do watever ur doing. if u try to do something without them copying u then it throws u and the other person off. ive only done this for about 3 weeks and im already used to it so it doesnt matter how much time as long as u practice regularly and pay attention on how the passenger reacts to everything u do and try to make it better

I took my son to school today and he was perfect, which is good, because he weighs as much as me. How long does it take to really get comfortable?

Its been mentioned here at least once, but it really is all about the weight of your bike vs. pillion load.

Jour profile suggests that you have a 2fiddy? Thats not exactly comfortable for many people riding UP. Your adding a lot of weight in proportion to the overall weight of the bike itself, so loading up is going to throw everything off.

On my BMW 1150GS, I could have had a gorilla on the back (dont ask... ) and it wouldnt have upset the bike, but my Tiger 1050 will bring more notice about.

It does take some time for you to grow comfortable riding with a passenger, but it also helps to educate the passenger on what they need to do.

Both of your spines need to be aligned... if you lean, they are close and you act as one. Not more, not less.... just in line with you. Tell em its not line dancing, its motorcycle riding. They need to scoot up as close to you as possible.

Im available if you wanna practice.

I don't know what brand bikes ya'll are useing but my 1krr will do one up without a problem. I always tell the girl on back to hold with one hand around me and the other on the tank whenever they think i'm going to slow down. Normally works out pretty good. If I touch their arm and push it closer to me that means hang the fk on we're doing whoolies
