I'd never heard of him. Pretty amazing to go from dirt champion to superbike champion in consecutive years. Thanks for the history lesson, Jody.

back in 00 or 01 me and some buds went to the flat track race in Baytown and spotted Nickey Hayden, Kevin Schwantz and Bubba hangin' out. They were nice enough to have their pics with us and when we got them back Bubba looked kinda scared! We had a few brews in us and were prolly overly excited to see them. Good times....

Bubba is an old friend of mine and my brother. They were in school together and his father belonged to the same dirt bike motorcycle club we did. Bub is a nice guy , just a little weird.

I remember that weekend.Nicky was walking around with Schwantz in the pits.He had some kinda cast on his hand and rumor was he was gonna do a parade lap or something but it was a no go because of the cast

I had to race against that kid all year, man is he fast!!! He is always the first out on pit lane for races, most of the guys wait till third call to keep their tires warm, and he is already waiting on pit wall the the motor killed to get out there and whip our aces.
