whatever floats your boat....

fork style stand - easier to put the front wheel up

pin style stand - not as easy as fork style, but you can make front end geometry changes with this stand.

I find my pin style much more stable on the SV than the fork style.

here's what i would do, in this order....which i have done on my own bikes.

1. SS brake lines
2. Race brake pads (i use EBC Extreme Pro's, the HH and GFA's ain't got on these)
3. Race rubber (but if ur just starting out, keep the street tires, they r cheaper)
4. Steering damper (unless you have a stock one, you can skip this and do it later)
5. Aftermarket rear shock
6. Fork cartridge kit or racetech internals
7. all the other like exhaust, air filter, pc3, blah blah blah
Where do you get your Extreme Pros at?

What weight of Amsoil? Manufacturer's spec?

He got them from Sunny at Sunny Motorsports. Give him a call at 281-998-8168. If he doesn't have it in stock, it won't take long to get it.

A lot of good answers on here, +1 on the track time. Save your money for tires and track time. The rest comes as you get faster and start learning the bike...just make sure you keep the track bike well maintained and it should treat you right.
Does the bike already have a Power Comm?
