Had you bothered to have read my 2nd response to this thread, on page #1 - you would have seen that Azylum's bike was still STOCK when it was stolen. It would have looked like every other blue and white gixxer on the street. It was only reskinned AFTER he recovered it, AFTER he wrecked it.

like a few people have already stated the new system lets you know when your bike moves with out you there. Also have are the thiefs going to know its on there? You will know about the bike being gone before they get a chance to strip it.

If you're all about "every precaution," then why not up with some LoJak? It's a relatively small price to pay to virtually guarantee you get your bike back.

Seems like an easy decision to me.

Lot's of mis-information outright b/s in the thread, and it never amazes me how some people will run their head about a subject they know nothing about;
"best to let people think you may be dumb than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

Lojack here in Houston has a 97% recovery rate in the first 24 hours and a 99% recovery rate period. AND this was with the older system.

Last time I checked, which was a month or so ago, only one bike equipped with Lojack had not been recovered in the Houston area since the system was brought down here.

I wonder what the percentage of recovered stolen bikes are without Lojack?
I guarantee a lot less than 99%.

Typical cost for the new Lojack with Early Warning is $775.00, there are no monthly fees etc., just the one time purchase / install price.

Lojack Early Warning works like this: If your bike is moved while your are away from it Lojack will contact you, rotating through 4 forms of contact that you choose: Cell, land line, e-mail, etc., to let you know that your bike is being moved. You can either choose to verify that the bike is o.k. or call the police and report it stolen. The police will begin tracking it immediately.

Lojack vs GPS.
Lojack does not work on GPS signals, and unlike GPS systems does not need an unobstructed view of the satellite. Lojack will work in containers, steel buildings, moving vans, trailers, etc.
Lojack is also the ONLY system that has the tracking unit installed in law enforcement vehicles.

Is it worth it?

Only you can make that call.
As someone stated earlier, the price of Lojack is often less than the theft deductible on your insurance, plus you get the satisfaction of probably catching the scum bag who stole it.

^ thank you patrick, if you worked hard for your bike, and to see it gone in a blink of an eye because some worthless P.O.S. wont earn there belongings, than its well worth it. oh as for a recent post about not being a snitch, dont have me around because ill snitch that person out right to there face. i have no respect for a thief at all. have your hard earned taken and you will understand my point of view.
